I drew this sketch of how Bolin met Pabu months ago and only now just got around to coloring it. Basically, my headcanon is that Fire Ferrets are actually rare delicacies only served in the five-star restaurants of Republic City. On the first day that Mako ever leaves Bolin by himself, Bo wanders off and finds poor Pabu in cage and about to be prepared for dinner. Cue in Bo sneaking into the restaurant and causing chaos to save Pabu.
